Debate on Essa Al Zedjali's Times of Oman editorial on Jews continues

The debate is continuing on the recent post referring to our local Hitler sympathist and holocaust apologist, Essa Al Zedjali,

and his front-page published observations and opinions on the on-going conflict in Gaza, religion, culture, race and ... err... Jews and genocide.

What do you think? Tell us at Muscat Confidential Comments.

I wonder if this editorial made the international media?

  1. History shows that sycophants nearly always get away with it. Nowt changes does it? That is why sycophants basically emerge as sycophants in the first place - and this is especially so when you run a protected side-business shamelessly making money in doing so. Its a well trodden path all over the world.

This particular 'clan-gang' however has a number of well positioned 'place-men', and crikey, it is the family profession for heaven's sake! It pays for the er, umm 'good things' in life. As such when the hubris inevitably starts to run away with itself one can fall prey to begin to believe in ones own choice-blend of 'black-flag' propaganda... You one can even be the tireless promoter the biggest project-racket in the Middle East - along with your own pet Jewish financiers... naturally.

    How does the song go?

    Let's go fly a kite
    Up to the highest height
    Let's go fly a kite
    And send it soaring
    Up through the atmosphere
Up where the air is clear
Oh, let's go fly a kite!

    Yes, lets.

  2. I'm disgusted that the Times of Oman gave space on its front page on Tuesday to one of those people who secretly runs the US economy, and is trying to run the world etc, etc. I assume that whoever allowed the article has now been sacked. (His name was a BIG clue)

Why do you keep bitching about what Zidjali wrote about jews ????

This is not america or europe where he will get sacked and driven to sucide for questioning the Jew propganda machine. This is Arab and muslim land you idiot and you can not pressure us to shut up about what your friends the jews are doing in Palestian. I sense that your are greatly offended by what he wrote and ask myself what does a arab/muslim hating westren jew doing in Oman ??!!!

We are a peacful country but that doesnt mean we blind ourselfs to what jews are doing or even you westren countries doing in other parts of this world. I have followed how you people bend truth to fit your agendas in Iraq war so it makes no suprise what you are doing now. Enjoy it while it lasts for an eternity of hell awaits you my friend.

    Best Regards,

    Ahmed.

  5. The simple fact that too many idiots like Ahmed and Zedjali excist on both sides of the fence is without doubt the main reason why this dramatic situation in Palestine has not yet been resolved...

  6. I respect anyone's and everyone's right to support the Palestinian cause, and there are many Jews who do so. In fact, most Jews support a Palestinian state.

But that is a far cry from justifying the killing of millions of people just for their religious beliefs.

Oman is the most tolerant of all the Gulf Countries, hosting a Church and Hindu Temple.

Shouldn't the government make it clear that justifying mass murder is wrong and inexcusable in the Omani Press ?

If Mr.Zidjali has a problem with Israel, he should feel free to express it, as he often does. But justifying the murder of millions is another matter.

It gives not only Mr.Zidjali a bad name, it does the same for the people and Government of the Sultanate who allow this to happen.

  7. Anon @ 9:00 PM,

so its the justifying of killings that you are worried about ?

The jews dealings with arabs and muslims is not a rosy picture from our piont of view. They have stolen a country from Palestinians, drove them off thier homes and killed many many people to establish the so called " Promised land " that they will decend to heavens from.
They show a very little regard to muslim/arab life and continue to treat palestinians like some form of sub-humans.

Thats why you will find little sympathy to jew cuase in this part of the world. Sorry to dispoint you.

    Enjoy it while it lasts.

    Regards,
    Ahmed.

  8. I suppose Mr. Zedjali's readings must have elucidated him as to how the Jews of Greece, Bulgaria and Yugoslavia controlled the German economy. To say nothing of the dirt poor Jews of Russia of Morrocco.

I guess the logic goes "If you can kill some Jews, you can kill all Jews" ?

The same logic could then be used about any ethnic group. If some Arabs perpetrated the 9/11 attacks and if we can kill some...

    Careful what "logic" you employ...

  10. I find it horrific that someone can even try and justify the holocaust and whether it was prefabricated or not. Millions of people died, not just Jews. Gypsies, homosexuals, in fact all and almost any minority race was singled out.
Whilst its truly horrific what is happening in Gaza at the moment, its an entirely different horror and should not be used to question the validity of what happened in places such as Belsen, Auschwitz and Sobibor.

I like your way with words here - real smart. Shows great education and experience in debate.

"what does a arab/muslim hating westren jew doing in Oman?"
Milking you for all you are worth son. Do you think the majority of ex-pats come here for sun and fun?.....get a grip! We're laughing all the way to the bank!

"I have followed how you people bend truth to fit your agendas in Iraq war"
Rather than how the truth is bent over here to fit your agendas in....everything?

"They show a very little regard to muslim/arab life and continue to treat palestinians like some form of sub-humans."

Sub-humans? How are your Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Indonesian and Filipino work force doing today? They must be over the moon to learn they are treated by you as equals.
I love the "homes" that you make for them on the edge of the villas that you build.

    "Enjoy it while it lasts"
Will do! I reckon about ten more years before the money is gone, we all bail-out (Indians included) and the majority of locals are left standing and wondering what a photocopier or a drill is.

    Grow up little man.

Did I say that I think otherwise .Of coarse you are here for the money !!!
I also laugh every time the oil price goes up!

" Rather than how the truth is bent over here to fit your agendas in....everything?"
At least here its bent to suit corruption in government management and not to kill hundreds of thousands of people just to get stake in oil. Don’t mix money with blood crimes.

"Sub-humans? How are your Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Indonesian and Filipino work force doing today? They must be over the moon to learn they are treated by you as equals. I love the "homes" that you make for them on the edge of the villas that you build."
Please explain how the west is better with regard to treatment and help of poor third world countries. ( I will try to imagine I did not read any history books here to help you out )

"Will do! I reckon about ten more years before the money is gone, we all bail-out (Indians included) and the majority of locals are left standing and wondering what a photocopier or a drill is. "
    I wouldn’t bet on that.

  13. Ahhh "faith" - that trump card of the one-eyed believer to rationalise the irrational to suit whatever maybe his cause. The whole Arab/Muslim V Israel/Jews is so tired, boring, and privative that the rest of the "civilized" world has largely lost interest. Think Northern Ireland. Until these 2 nations get tired of killing each other and the "FAITHFUL" that stand on the sidelines of either side - cheering, wailing, condemning and SUPPORTING - no solution will be found.

  14. Am I being a bit thick here? But why is it, when most local people "discuss" the whole Isreal/Palestine thing, do they say Jews, instead of Isrealis?
I mean, that's like blaming all Christians for the Munich bombings, or all Bhuddists for the shame in Cambodia!

    Sadly disappointed and confused.

  15. Why doesn't someone write to the US embassy and point out the crime that Essa has committed in his writing justifying the holocaust?
Newspapers are supposed to reflect the pulse of the nation and certainly I don't think that Oman is supporting either side.

  16. Why write to the US embassy regarding a possible crime by an Omani in Oman?!? Let the Omani people (or, if deemed necessary, Omani judges) decide on this one please.

  17. Enough about what this man wrote, it's like nobody has ever written something evil lately. He wrote what he wrote, people write all kind of stuff about muslims, christians, blacks, chinese and about everyone else. Jews need to live like everyone else, thats that. If someone doesn't believe in their holocaust he shouldn't. They need to stop whining and crying like kids.

6 million Jews died?? well stop whining and go reproduce them again. It's not like they are extinct.

Ahmed: forget about Jet Driver (more of a scooter boy), he doesn't represent all the foreigners in Oman.

Anon at 12:29 pm: Why don't you call the US embassy and tell them about the actual crimes that their president George W. Bush committed against the people of Iraq. And please don't forget to mention his British partner. Both should go behind bars for their war crimes. Calling themselves Leaders of TFW.

I bet Taylor and the other war criminals can enroll in the Bush & partners college of War Crimes. Doubt they will ever graduate, it will be one tough college.

  19. The Western media is doing an awesome job hiding the truth about the Israel/Palestinian conflict. Palestinians are getting murdered by the Zionist just like how Jews used to get mudded by the Nazis WW2. However, it is the Palestinians who have to forget the past and not them.

Most western news channels lie about the real situation in Gaza. Why?

Who gave the Zionist the right to OCCUPY/INVADE a land that does not belong to them?

What peace are you all talking about? I know Palestine was at peace before the creation of Israel by the Zionists. So who started all this conflict?

Why is it not OK for Freedom fighters like Hamas to resist the Israel who have invaded their lands?

Why is it illegal to call Hamas freedom fighters?

Why It is ok for the US and UK to supply weapons to Israel to occupy more land as it did for sixty years?

  20. Finally... at least some action from Europe... just when I started to really feel deeply ashamed of being a 'westerner':

    -----------------
Luisa Morgantini, Vice President of the European Parliament, and the MEPs delegation entered to Gaza Strip, today 11th January 2009, through Rafah border crossing.

The delegation – that is composed by 8 MEPs belonging to different political groups and by one Member of the Italian Senate- will stay in Gaza Strip from Saturday 10 to Tuesday 13 January, when the MEPs will come back to Strasbourg to report back about the situation to the Plenary session of the EU Parliament and they will hold a press conference.
In Gaza the delegation will be staying with UNRWA and visit refugee camps, hospitals and towns.

The MEP are grateful to the Egyptian Authority and Unrwa for their cooperation and support.

  23. The Butchering Of Gaza - Nazi Germany Revisited

Most of what you need to know to discern the reality of the situation in Gaza is available in the articles below this one - most, but not all. There is one detail that has not yet (to my knowledge) been exposed, but which is crucial if we are to understand the true depth of Israeli state mendacity.

The Israeli government claims that Hamas broke a ceasefire recently and began firing rockets into Israel and that the bombing of Gaza by the Israel air force is to stop the firing of these rockets by Hamas.

The truth is that Israel broke a five-month-long ceasefire with Hamas on November 4th, 2008 by assassinating six Hamas officials in Gaza. Please note the date that was chosen to do so (election day in the US). As reported recently in Haaretz, the attack on Gaza was planned six months ago

The Israel government has also flagrantly violated the terms of an agreement that it signed in November 2005 which stipulated that 400 truckloads a day of exports should have been leaving Gaza by the end of 2006. No goods have been allowed to leave Gaza and vital medical and food supplies have been regularly cut off over the past 4 years leaving much of Gaza's 1.5 million people malnourished.

Israel claims that the homemade, sugar-fueled rockets that wobble their way from Gaza towards the vicinity of nearby Israeli towns and which generally land harmlessly far and wide of their targets are its causus belli. These rockets are clearly primitive and by now every Palestinian must realise that they are useless as a weapon against the Israeli occupation of Palestine. More than that, every Palestinian must realise that the surest way to increase the chance that they or several members of their family will be dismembered by an Israeli missile is to keep firing impotent rockets into Israel. The REAL value of such rockets therefore is as justification to the Israel government to continue massacring and generally brutalizing the Palestinian people.

The logical deduction therefore is that it is not Hamas that has been firing rockets into Israel from the Gaza strip but the state of Israel itself. Back in October a senior Hamas leader said as much:

Hamas blames 'Israeli collaborators' for launching rockets.
    Source : Albawaba.com
    Sun, 12 Oct 2008

That agents of the state of Israel are behind much if not all of the "Hamas rockets" is a reasonable conclusion and backed up by the Israeli governments long term penchant for fabricating Muslim terrorism.

    For example:
    Yemen seizes Israel-linked cell
    Source : BBC News
    Oct 7th 2008

Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh has said the security forces have arrested a group of alleged Islamist militants linked to Israeli intelligence.

    And these :
    From the Yemen Observer:

President Saleh revealed on Monday that security forces in Yemen caught an espionage network for Israel made up of Arab nationals. This announcement came during his speech in front of MP's, Shura Council members, local council members, scholars and military and security leaders at Hadhramout University.

According to the president the suspected spies will be brought before the courts shortly in a public trial after investigations are complete.

The network was comprised of 40 people from different Arab nationalities spying for Mossad, the Israeli international intelligence said sources from National and Political Security Units. The members of the espionage network entered Yemen on the premise of conducting business, tourism and even for preaching in mosques. Saleh said that the suspected spies form a terrorism cell that uses also Islam to reach their targets.

Or this from the Sydney Morning Herald in 2002:

    Palestinians arrest al-Qaeda 'poseurs'

    December 8 2002

Palestinian security forces have arrested a group of Palestinians for collaborating with Israel and posing as operatives of Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda terrorist network, a senior official said yesterday.

The arrests come two days after Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon charged al-Qaeda militants were operating in Gaza and in Lebanon.

"The Palestinian Authority arrested a group of collaborators who confessed they were working for Israel, posing as al-Qaeda operatives in the Palestinian territories," said the official, on condition of anonymity.

He said the alleged collaborators sought to "discredit the Palestinian people, justify every Israeli crime and provide reasons to carry out a new (military) aggression in the Gaza Strip."

    Or these:

Lebanon's Army captures Israeli Mossad 'Terrorist Ring'

    Wednesday, 14 June, 2006

Beirut - The Lebanese army has said it had captured members of a terrorist network allegedly working for the Israeli Mossad and that a suspect confessed to his role in assassinating Hezbollah and Palestinian officials.

Sixty some years ago very similar scenes to those in Gaza today were playing out in Germany and Poland, and the then Nazi government urged Western citizens to accept it all as necessary and justified. Many people then accepted and condoned the Nazi atrocities, and many more turned a blind eye.

You are probably bored of being reminded that those that do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it, or that history really does repeat itself. But you should remember that history only repeats itself when we the people sit back and wishfully think that this time things will be different. The Nazis massacred millions of people over a twelve year period from 1933 to 1945. WWII (which claimed the lives of 65 million people) was ignited by an act of brutality very similar in nature to the Israeli actions in Palestine. The ideological descendants of the bankers, political leaders, military men and global geopolitical strategists that financed, pursued and profited from that last "great" war are today sitting in Tel Aviv, Washington and London with mass murder and mayhem once again on their minds.

So let us not allow history to repeat itself, yet again, by permitting the clearly psychopathic morality of our political leaders to be passed off as "freedom and democracy" or a "just fight" against some manufactured foe. Let us, if only with our collective conscious awareness, resist the blatant crimes against humanity and massacring of the innocent that is taking place in Gaza.

  24. It's clear from some of the heated exchanges here that many seem to agree with Essra's hate-filled rantings! There is no sense talking to anyone such as Ahmed or Kelly who are self-deluded and will believe anything they read which matches their "Jews are evil" philosophy. The same people who demonize the Jews cry out loud that the West has Islamophobia. Check out this cartoon which captures this double-standard PERFECTLY! http://www.debbieschlussel.com/archives/mohammedcartooncomparisons.jpg

  26. Hmm it's so easy to start a war - small or big scale. It's so difficult to make or even maintain peace - at any scale. It's easy to call someone idiot, stupid, ill educated etc. It's so difficult to see the beauty in that very same person, the love, the potential and to meet the person with respect even if you cannot respect the opinion expressed. To ask questions instead of making judgements. To engage in dialogue instead of creating a distance.
I am not Jewish nor am I Arab, but nevertheless I would be so absolutely happy the day i will no longer hear of Arabs or Jews in Israel loosing their loved ones because someone from the 'other' side fired at them. The day when it will simply not matter if my colleague Mohamed is Arab, because he is just Mohamed and he's good at something.
We can do our best to keep the pot on the fire or we can take it off. Refuse to look upon anyone with contempt and disrespect. We have that option - what ever everyone else does.
So we can choose peace right now and right where we are, and for each time we do that, peace will be more and more likely. We can cultivate our own skills at how not to start a war, how to keep an open mind, how to stop conflicts.
It can be done! and we will all benefit from it - no exceptions.
